YOUTH/YOUNG ADULT MINISTRIES

S.W.A.G. ACADEMY

Grades 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th

S.W.A.G. meets the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month.

Biblically based lessons embrace the urban vernacular S.W.A.G. (Someone Who Adores God) and impressed on youth how young people should present themselves with Christian SWAG.  In lively discussions and role play, this ministry deals with the realities of what youth deal with on a day to day basis using God’s Word to address Christian character, peer pressure, goal setting, and other issues that our youth encounter.

CONFIRMATION

Yearly, a comprehensive holistic program fosters spiritual formation and inspires confirmands to respond to Jesus' call to be His disciples. Grades 6th, 7th, and 8th  (or any youth who has not been confirmed)

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Each summer, specialized fun, energetic, and engaging spiritual formation allows children and youth the opportunity to carry out “The Great Commission” (Matthew 28:16-20).

OUTREACH

Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.  James 1:22 (NKJV)Prayerfully chosen mission trips and local outreach opportunities allow children and youth to serve and be doers of God’s Word.

Quarterly service outings allow children and youth to support our local community.

CAMPS

Summer camp at Bridgeport Camp and Conference Center provides opportunities for children and youth to experience loving Christian community and be shaped by God’s grace in God’s creation.

CONFERENCE AND DISTRICT LEVEL EVENTS

Children and youth are encouraged and supported to participate in events at the district and conference level.  These gatherings serve to love and nurture children and youth in additional settings that foster spiritual formation.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteer opportunities are available in all areas of Children and Youth Ministries. Whether you would like to teach a class, chaperone on outings, or provide supervision; whatever your skill, we welcome and need your support.  Please contact Melissa Clay or Ramonda Goodwin if you are interested in volunteering.

1615 INVESTMENT

At The Village, we believe “It Takes a Village to Raise a Child.”  The 1615 Investment (1615 is the physical address of The Village) provides financial support for the Children and Youth Ministries via a monthly commitment of $16.15.   We want the children and youth to focus on their spiritual formation and ministry instead of fundraising. Contributions can be made at the following Online Giving link.

Thank you for blessing the children and youth.
