EMPOWER
Congregational Care
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” - John 13:34-35
At The Village, we believe Congregational Care is about being a welcoming and spiritually nurturing family. We believe this includes sharing in one another’s joys, challenges, and sorrow’s in thoughtful and practical ways. Our congregational care ministries designed to become a community in which we extend the love of Christ to one another. Guided by this vision to become a care system made up of several interconnected parts:
It’s Prayer Time (IPT) Ministry
The prayer team consists of a group of committed and gifted spiritual leaders who come together in one spirit (1Cor. 12:11) to intercede for the spiritual, health, financial and social needs of the body of Christ. We firmly believe that the fervent prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.
James 5:16.
The Prayer Team:
Prays during altar prayer to pray over the written prayer requests submitted during service. Available to pray with member’s who request further prayer after church service. Pray over submitted prayer concerns after Sunday service. Prays consistently during the week of submission.
Spiritual Partners: New Members Welcoming Ministry
Our purpose is to involve new member(s) and their families in the ministry and service of The Village. The team will share with new members, the ministries and opportunities offered at The Village and engage them by personal contact in seeking out their spiritual gifts and talents. The team will encourage new members to use their gifts and talent in service within the church. (Romans 12:6-8).
